ICAMA Reg. No. PD20100752 Product Category: Insecticide Specialized dual-action miticide for effective red spider mite control in temperate apple orchards. Key Features: 1. Enhanced Crop Yield: Effectively controls red spider mites, reducing leaf damage and promoting healthier apple production. 2. Cost-Effective Solution: Dual-action formula minimizes the need for multiple treatments, saving time and resources. 3. Environmental Compatibility: Low toxicity to mammals and beneficial insects, supporting sustainable farming practices.
Detailed Description: This emulsifiable concentrate (EC) formulation integrates abamectin, a naturally derived biopesticide from Streptomyces avermitilis, with petroleum oil to combat red spider mites (Panonychus ulmi) on apple trees. Abamectin disrupts the mites' nervous system by binding to glutamate-gated chloride channels, causing paralysis and death. The petroleum oil enhances efficacy by suffocating mites and their eggs, providing a physical mode of action that complements abamectin's biochemical effects. This combination ensures comprehensive control of active mites and their reproductive stages, reducing reinfestation risks.
Effective Against: · Red Spider Mites (Panonychus ulmi): Pests that damage apple trees by feeding on leaf tissues, leading to chlorosis, defoliation, and reduced fruit yield. · Two-Spotted Spider Mites (Tetranychus urticae): Affects various crops, causing leaf discoloration and reduced photosynthesis. · European Red Mites (Panonychus ulmi): Common in orchards, leading to leaf bronzing and premature drop. · Citrus Red Mites (Panonychus citri): Infests citrus plants, causing leaf stippling and fruit scarring.
Registered Scope and Method of Use:
Note: To achieve the recommended dilution, mix 670 mL of the product per kiloliter of water for a 1,500x dilution, and 500 mL per kiloliter of water for a 2,000x dilution.
Technical Application Requirements: 1. Optimal Timing: Apply during the early to peak nymph stages of red spider mites to maximize efficacy. 2. Application Technique: Dilute the product with water as per the recommended ratio and spray evenly, ensuring thorough coverage, especially on young shoots, tender buds, and the undersides of leaves where mites congregate. 3. Environmental Considerations: Avoid application on windy days or immediately before or after rainfall to prevent reduced efficacy and potential spray drift. 4. Safety Precautions: Wear appropriate personal protective equipment during application and adhere to local regulations regarding pre-harvest intervals and re-entry periods.
