Detailed Description:

Malathion 45% EC is a non-systemic organophosphate insecticide with strong contact toxicity and mild fumigant action, effectively controlling cotton mirid bugs (Lygus spp.). Once inside the insect body, Malathion undergoes oxidation to malaoxon, a more toxic metabolite that irreversibly inhibits acetylcholinesterase (AChE), disrupting nerve signal transmission and leading to paralysis and death. This rapid metabolic activation enhances its efficacy against piercing-sucking pests, making it particularly effective in cotton pest management.
