Detailed Description:

Fenpyroximate a phenoxypyrazole acaricide specifically designed to control various mite species across multiple crops, which functions by inhibiting mitochondrial electron transport at Complex I within the respiratory chain of mite cells. This inhibition disrupts ATP synthesis, leading to energy depletion, paralysis, and eventual death of the mites. Fenpyroximate exhibits strong contact activity against all motile stages of mites, including larvae, nymphs, and adults, providing rapid knockdown and extended residual control. Notably, it is non-systemic and requires thorough coverage for optimal efficacy. Its unique mode of action makes it effective against mite populations that have developed resistance to other acaricides, and it has been shown to have minimal impact on beneficial arthropods, making it a valuable tool in integrated pest management programs.

Effective Against:

• Red Spider Mite (Oligonychus coffeae): Commonly infests crops like tea, causing leaf discoloration and reduced photosynthesis.

• Yellow Mite (Polyphagotarsonemus latus): Affects crops like chillies, leading to leaf curling and stunted growth.

• Purple Mite (Calacarus carinatus): Predominantly found in tea plantations, causing leaf bronzing and defoliation.

Registered Scope and Method of Use

Note: Prepare the spray solution by diluting 0.33–0.5 liters of Fenpyroximate 5% SC per kiloliter of water.

Technical Application Requirements:

1.      Timing: Apply during the early peak period of mite infestation. Limit to a maximum of two applications per season, observing a 15-day pre-harvest interval.

2.      Weather Conditions: Avoid application during windy conditions or if rainfall is imminent to prevent reduced efficacy and potential runoff.

3.      Application Technique: Ensure thorough and uniform coverage of the foliage, especially the undersides of leaves where mites commonly reside.

4.      Resistance Management: Rotate with acaricides from different IRAC groups to delay resistance development and maintain long-term effectiveness.
