Descriptions
ICAMA Reg. No.: PD20092145 Product Category: Insecticides A synergistic insecticidal formulation providing rapid and effective control over cotton bollworm and various lepidopteran larvae.
Key Features: 1. Dual Mode of Action: Combines the contact and stomach poisoning effects of cypermethrin with the systemic and contact toxicity of phoxim, ensuring comprehensive pest control. 2. Broad-Spectrum Efficacy: Effective against multiple pests across various crops, including cotton, vegetables, and fruit trees. 3. Rapid Knockdown: Provides quick pest mortality, reducing crop damage and potential yield loss.
Detailed Description: This 27% Emulsifiable Concentrate formulation comprises 4% cypermethrin and 23% phoxim, offering a potent solution against a variety of agricultural pests. Cypermethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid that targets the nervous system of insects. It prolongs the opening of voltage-gated sodium channels in nerve cells, leading to continuous nerve excitation, paralysis, and eventual death of the pest. Phoxim is an organophosphate insecticide that inhibits acetylcholinesterase (AChE), the enzyme responsible for breaking down acetylcholine in synaptic clefts. The accumulation of acetylcholine results in persistent nerve signal transmission, causing hyperexcitation, paralysis, and death of the insect. The combination of these two active ingredients provides a dual mechanism of action, enhancing efficacy and reducing the likelihood of resistance development.
Effective Against: · Cotton Bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera): A major pest in cotton cultivation, causing significant damage to bolls and reducing yield. · Cabbage Worm (Pieris rapae): Larvae feed on cruciferous vegetables, leading to defoliation and crop loss. · Armyworm (Mythimna separata): Feeds on cereals and grasses, causing extensive defoliation. · Leafhoppers (Empoasca spp.): Sap-sucking insects affecting a variety of crops, leading to leaf curling and stunted growth. · Aphids (Aphis spp.): Small sap-sucking insects that transmit plant viruses and cause leaf deformation.
Registered Scope and Method of Use
Technical Application Requirements: 1. Timing: Apply during the peak hatching period of cotton bollworm eggs or at the early larval stage for optimal control. 2. Mixing: Prepare the spray solution by diluting the specified amount of product in water, ensuring thorough mixing for uniform application. 3. Application Technique: Ensure even coverage of all plant parts, including the undersides of leaves, where pests often reside. 4. Environmental Conditions: Due to photodegradation, it is advisable to apply the product in the late afternoon or evening to maximize efficacy. 5. Safety Measures: Wear appropriate personal protective equipment during mixing and application. Avoid inhalation and contact with skin or eyes. Do not eat, drink, or smoke during application. Wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly after handling. 6. Resistance Management: To prevent the development of resistance, alternate with insecticides having different modes of action and avoid repeated applications of the same product. |
