Detailed Description:

This water-dispersible granule formulation contains 80% captan, a phthalimide-class fungicide renowned for its broad-spectrum activity. Captan acts as a non-specific thiol reactant, interfering with multiple enzymatic processes within fungal cells. By reacting with thiol groups in proteins, it disrupts essential functions such as respiration and energy production, leading to cell death. Upon application, captan forms a protective barrier on plant surfaces, inhibiting spore germination and preventing fungal penetration. Its multi-site mode of action makes it a valuable tool in resistance management strategies.

Effective Against:

·         Citrus Trees Resin Disease (Phytophthora spp.): Characterized by gummosis and bark lesions, leading to tree decline.

·         Apple Trees Scab (Venturia inaequalis): Manifests as dark, scabby lesions on leaves and fruit, affecting photosynthesis and marketability.

·         Peach Trees Brown Rot (Monilinia fructicola): Causes blossom blight and fruit rot, leading to significant yield losses.

·         Strawberries Gray Mold (Botrytis cinerea): Infects flowers and fruit, resulting in soft, brown lesions and substantial yield reduction.

Registered Scope and Method of Use

Technical Application Requirements:

1.      Timing: Initiate applications preventatively or at the early onset of disease symptoms for optimal results.

2.      Mixing: Utilize the two-step dilution method to ensure the product is fully and evenly dispersed in the spray solution.

3.      Application Technique: Use calibrated spraying equipment to achieve uniform coverage. Pay special attention to new growth and areas prone to infection.

4.      Environmental Conditions: Avoid application during windy conditions or if rainfall is anticipated within 1 hour to prevent runoff and ensure maximum efficacy.

5.      Safety Measures: Wear appropriate personal protective equipment during mixing and application. Avoid inhalation and contact with skin or eyes. Do not eat, drink, or smoke during application. Wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly after handling.

6.      Re-entry Interval: Do not allow entry into treated areas for at least 24 hours post-application without proper protective clothing.

7.      Resistance Management: To prevent the development of resistant fungal strains, rotate with fungicides having different modes of action and avoid consecutive applications of captan.
