ICAMA Reg. No. PD20142122 Product Category: Fungicides Effective fungicide offering preventive and curative control of banana anthracnose, reducing post-harvest losses. Key Product Features: 1. Long-Lasting Disease Control: Provides preventive, protective, and curative action against banana anthracnose, reducing disease spread and post-harvest losses. 2. Deep Penetration for Effective Protection: Though not systemic, it penetrates plant tissues with translaminar activity, ensuring extended and reliable fungal suppression.
Detailed Description: Prochloraz 450 g/L EW is an imidazole fungicide with preventive, protective, and curative properties. It acts by inhibiting ergosterol biosynthesis, a critical component of fungal cell membranes, leading to membrane disruption, impaired growth, and eventual cell death. Although it does not exhibit systemic movement within plants, Prochloraz has translaminar activity, allowing it to penetrate and redistribute within plant tissues for extended protection. This broad-spectrum fungicide is highly effective against Ascomycete fungi, particularly those causing post-harvest and foliar diseases in bananas. Its multi-action properties ensure long-lasting disease control, reducing fungal spread and minimizing economic losses. For best results, it should be applied at early disease onset with uniform coverage to maximize efficacy.
Effective Against: · Banana Anthracnose (Colletotrichum spp.): Causes dark lesions on fruit, leading to significant post-harvest losses. · Mango Stem-End Rot (Lasiodiplodia theobromae): Results in fruit rot, affecting quality and marketability. · Rice False Smut (Ustilaginoidea virens): Leads to grain discoloration and yield reduction.
ICAMA Registered Scope and Method of Use:
Note: Prepare the recommended dilution by mixing 0.56–1.11 liters of product per kiloliter of water.
Technical Application Requirements: 1. Harvest Timing and Treatment: Harvest bananas at 80% maturity and dip the fruit in the recommended dilution for 1–2 minutes on the same day. Allow to air dry after treatment. 2. Proper Handling Conditions: Ensure the dipping solution is evenly mixed and maintained at the correct concentration to maximize effectiveness and avoid uneven residue. 3. Resistance Management: Rotate with fungicides from different FRAC groups and maintain proper post-harvest storage conditions to reduce fungal resistance and enhance disease control. |
